ARCTIC CIRCLE

Mermaid Youtheatre Director Chris Heide continues his work with youth in the
Canadian Arctic this fall heading up the multi-faceted pilot program Making
Connections for Youth in Pangnirtung, Nunavut. As a part of that program,
with the Arctic Circle drama group he established there, Chris recently
offered a three-day video, drama and storytelling workshop for fifteen Inuit
youth at a retreat on the shores of Cumberland Sound. They were joined by
three elders and a team of video artists headed by talented filmmaker Qajaaq
Ellsworth.

Arctic Circle members (LtoR) Roselynn Akulukjuk, David
Alivaktuk and Paulette Meetuq clowning around to a thumbs up from Youtheatre
Director Chris Heide. The group was taking a break from work on Roselynn's
play "Love Us More."
